Work

Today was a good day, so many teenager @ church cutting grass, The boys cutting grass, & the girls cleaning the buildings, restrooms and all. I was trying to fix the tractor tire, someone ran it flat. It was just dirt on the rim so the tire wouldn't sit right on it. Bro Zeke took it to a tire shop, & got it fixed. Bro Carlos Cantu was weed eating, so was Johnny & I. Bro Tony & Sis Eva brought an army of teenagers, wow, really wow lots of kids. Sis Kim & my wife were cleaning also. Sis Lucy was on refreshments good job Lucy, way to keep us hydrated. Me & Tony went to to put gas on the church bus, just to see how it was running, it runs good. Now tonight they want to cook out, bring your meats, & drinks. Know your cuts of meats. I have to finish cutting the grass in the backyard it is a jungle, Just came in to cool off for a little bit.

Big Brother

Last night J called called to tell me his mother was home from Washington & what was for dinner. Praise God. He was talking to me on the phone on his way to Wendy's or something, then he tells me "oh No, I'm going to get a ticket". I told him "Why man r u getting pulled over or what?". He said," no I just passed the BB light, but it didn't flash". So he might get a picture in the mail. Then @ work today some lady got her ticket, it was a real nice detailed pic. It shows her car about to turn right on red, but there is a yellow truck actually passing the light. So she is going to fight the ticket. It has her car, licence plate zoomed in, & time, it is a really nice pic in color too. he he. So watch out BB is watching you.

Where r the men?

This Saturday we went on visitation, & I was upset because there weren't any men there. I walked to the preachers' office to walk it off, and started to pray. The Lord convicted me, so I worked with the next generation. (Amen.) My boys, the preachers boys & my nephew, Toby, were there. I know some men have to work or do have a legitimate excuse, but those that don't go, shame on you. What could be more important than telling people about Jesus? Tell me. Well anyway, that's another blog. The boys did really good, I felt like a hen watching over the chicks. I told the boys to behave before we got off the car. I Told them to remember they represent the church, & most importantly they represent God. Visitation went good, I talked to some people, some sounded interested, but you know how that goes, they don't show up. Don't let that stop you though from visiting. My boys did a good job, I was so proud of them, when I say my boys I mean all of the boys of Grace. They are not ashamed of the Gospel, they are excited to pass out John & Romans. (Amen.) I thank all of you that participate in visitation, Lord will Bless our church for it.

Some Day

Today was a good day in church & also the fellowship afterwards at Jasons' Deli. When we left,I followed J, because he had no wipers. He didn't ask me to , but I did anyway. When we were on the freeway I was trying to catch up with him. He was in his vette, & I was in my Chevy prizm 4 cylinder, I wonder why I couldn't catch up to him. Then it starts to rain. Now my exit is coming up, but I don't see J, I know he is in front of me, so I am going to miss my exit, it starts raining, @ that very moment a cop gets on the freeway with its lights on going pretty fast. Oh by the way, there was an accident on the south bound side, the cop was probably going to close off the exits. He was flying in front of us, then all of a sudden he starts to hydroplane out of control, starts spinning, he tries to correct it, but it was too late. He hits the median concrete barrier with the front of the car. Might I add, that the hammer lane (fast lane) was full of water, then my wife is calling it in, and they are telling her there is someone @ the site already, and my wife gets louder starts telling their dispatcher that it just happened in front of her eyes "right now". The dispatch thinks it is the same accident that was on the opposite side. I get out to see if the officer is alright , He asks me if I got hit, I told him "no". Then he said "oh you were just checking on me, thanks, I'm alright". So I get back in the car don't know where J is, my phone is @ home, I ask my wife to call J to see where he is @, but he was on Wilson Rd already near his house. He said he saw the cop in back of him so I guess the cop was between us. True story. This happened in a couple of minutes, but it seemed like a long time.

Odd weird awkward

Bro Sammy in Odem, Tx

We made A trip to see Bro Sammy Allen in Odem, TX. We went in Pastors van, it is about a 2 hour drive from Harlingen. Bro Allen made a handful of us stand up, & say how long we had been saved. Then, if you know Bro Allen, he will leave you standing for the rest of the service. I was thinking, "man when is he going to let us sit down". I would look @ preacher, & he just continued standing, Preacher told me later that he was thinking that he wouldn't sit down until I did. So we all that were standing & Standing. Finally he tells us to sit down, it was funny, we were talking about standing in church, on the way home. Sorry Laura you weren't there. Good preaching on staying on fire for Jesus, like when you first got saved. Sis Kim was scared to take the picture. Bro Sammy told them they make a lovely couple.awwwwwwwwwww.

Ball Player

My son Mike he is always in sports. Well not this year, he has to miss football, he will play on Wednesday so he wont play this year. He has taking it pretty good, he usually plays baseball, then football, & then basket ball. He isn't in nothing so far, but he is really into his skateboard. He has no friends to play with after school, so he loves it when we go to church, & after church he plays with the preachers kids. I am trying for the teenagers to keep bringing there friends, but last week I had no teenagers except for Laura. I don't know what to do, but I will do just what a preacher friend of mine(Bro Howard) told me what to to, "just keep preaching & teaching the Word of God". So I will. I just praying, & hoping Mike keeps on with the Lord. I am trying to teach him to keep his priorities in line.

Prayer Request

Carlos Cantu just called asking for prayer for his Dad, he is in the hospital & he is stuck @ work. Carlos doesn't know how serious it is, but just pray for his dad.Thank you.

Dent

Today when I got out of church there was dent on my car. There is red paint on the part that was hit, and the people across the street have a red car, but nothing can really be done since no one saw anything, so that stinks. Now I have this dent on the side of the car, and it really looks all mojo. I confronted the people , but they got all offensive. So I called the cops, but nada, no one did anything. I'm going to try to tap it out, so we'll see what happens. I think it was the same dwarf that gramma had problems with.

Sauls' Conversion, Teenage Class 9/2/07

We have been studying Sauls' life when he was on the road to Damascus, on his way to persecute some more Christians. Our Bible Verses will be Acts 9: 3-9. The bible says there was a light on Saul, like a spotlight, when he heard the voice of God. The men heard the voice, but saw no one, & they were speechless. Have you ever been in shock like that? That you can't believe what is happening or just happened? These men stood still, scared stiff you might say, Saul was on the floor when this was happening. I would like to think he was on his knees, but that is just my opinion. Then these men that were with him lead him by the hand to Damascus because he was blind. Saul was blinded for 3 days, he also didn't eat or drink for 3 days. In Damascus he was taken to the house of Judas, the bible doesn't say he even talked to Judas. He had no christian friends to talk to, all the Christians were hiding from him, since they heard he was coming. There was a certain disciple in Damascus by the name of Ananias, & God told him to go get Saul. God told Ananias exactly where Saul was in Damascus on a street called Straight. Can you imagine fearing this man, being in hiding, & God starts telling you not only where he is , but to go get him. Saul was in prayer, (you better believe he was in prayer) and God gave Saul a vision of Ananias coming in & putting his hands on him so that he could receive his sight again. So then Ananias starts questioning God. When something doesn't feel right, but God is telling you to do it, you know you have to do it. God tells Ananias to go get Saul, because he is a chosen vessel, & God is going to use him. So Ananias went to go get Saul, when Ananias put his hands on him, & said BROTHER SAUL, (Aw man to be called Brother, Child of God, man that is awesome), God sent someone to Saul, wont you be an Ananias? If God is telling you to go, don't question it, just go. Ananias said to Saul,"Brother Saul the Lord Jesus has sent me". Saul would receive his sight, & be filled with the Holy Ghost Amen Be Filled. Be an Ananias, when some one gets saved , and they need someone to help them in there christian walk, be a friend to them. Don't turn them away from God, encourage them to be closer to Jesus. (As I was typing this lesson, it didn't go like I planned, but oh well whatever God put in my heart.) Don't turn your back on these Christians that need you, you don't know what they have been through. Let us Pray, if you are saved you must have compassion on lost souls & Christians all around, they need you. If you are not saved, today is the day of your salvation, call on Jesus before it is too late. Don't wait until you are in a bind to look for Jesus, the time is now to get it right with God. Amen

Pray

Pray for Steve Caldwell, he was asking for directions for church he said he is coming to church on Sunday morning. I went to fix his flat one time, when his wife broke down, & he said he owed me. But I told him come to church, & we will call it even. So he says he is coming.Pray Please.
