Traveling

I was watching the travel channel the other day, when I hear a voice I recognize, as I look up it is Bro. Sammy Allen at a Bar-B-Que joint in Lexington, Kentucky called Monks. Well I quick ran to tell my wife because they showed this clip before they went to commercial, so she tells me to call John so I did, & sure enough it was him. It was so cool to see someone you look up to on TV. Then just yesterday watching the travel channel again, when I saw a place called Hebert’s or something like that in Maurice, Louisiana, then I said hmm I think I have been there sure enough I have. They had this traducky, yes traducky , it was on with the show with strange food. Well it was a rabbit, a duck, & a turkey all d-boned wrapped into one gymormouse hunk of a turkey looking thing. Well then they show the boudin, which is good, then a placed called Soups which is the same owner they just have a restaurant, Then it hit me yes I know where that is that’s where Melinda had a ladies meeting once with the other church in Abbeville. It was so cool to see these places on TV. Oh yeah then they showed some Nutria rat that lives in the bayou, john told me once they were called neutral rats, they showed some people who catch these rats & eat them, then he had a surprise dish & it turned out to be Squirrel. Made me miss those cracklins they sure are good, oh before I forget they had to had an interpreter for the Cajun brother, The Host seemed not to under stand him, seriously have you heard the real Cajuns talk. It is like our tex-mex language all made up. Then I got that feeling of missing Louisiana, or Oklahoma, but Nah it was that feeling of just getting away from it all here, just traveling. But in the end no one can really leave the valley without missing it. So till my next though or wishful thinking I was on vacation somewhere.
